I am a Burlington, Ontario, Family Physician with insatiable curiosity, interest in the human condition and a lifelong desire to write fiction. I have an honours biology degree and a medical degree from the McMaster Medical School, and remain passionate about medicine. Where would I be without two blustery Cairn terriers and a reluctant Samoyed. I think Samoyeds are a triumph of nature. I love animals and miss my cat. Buddy is the affectionate two year old black squirrel of the family.
An episode of depression that I experienced inspired me to write this book, because of the exquisite shame and stigma I felt. It seemed to be obvious that writing a fictional book based on my illness might satisfy my inclination to write, and be meaningful to all who encounter mental illness, enjoy a good story about a stricken family, or are interested in psychology and/or psychiatry. My hope is also to help others carry on and open up this subject to everyone including the medical profession.
Other interests I have are occupational medicine, psychiatry, osteoporosis, making jewelry, interior design, gardening, reading when I can, and living by the sea in P.E.I. My next book is going to be a murder mystery with an HIV-positive surgeon as the lead character.
The ebook is provocative, erotic, unpredictable, and vivid and within the tales there is an exploration of many controversial social topics of our time. I think my ebook would interest your readers because two of the main characters are a bi-sexual female physician and her lesbian lover. My ebook could be described as a twenty-first century, queer, ‘One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest’.
