Jean Roberta has taught first-year English classes in the University of Regina (Saskatchewan) for 25 years, and writes in several genres. Approximately 100 of her erotic stories have appeared in print anthologies, including Shakespearotica: Queering the Bard, Best Lesbian Romance 2014, Rumpled Silk Sheets, as well as her historical novella, The Flight of the Black Swan and her story collection, The Princess and the Outlaw.
Her non-fiction (which appears under her family name, Jean Hillabold) includes her essay on 1928 queer novel The Well of Loneliness in an anthology she co-edited, OutSpoken: Perspectives on Queer Identities and her essay on vampire literature appears in Teaching the Vampire. Her own essay collection, Sex Is All Metaphors (see below), appears under her pen name, Jean Roberta.
